Mandela Long Walk To Freedom.
Film of Nelson Mandelas' life.
This film was directed by Justin Chadwick.
Screen Play by William Nicholson.
Autobiography Nelson Mandela.
The film stars: Idris Elba as Nelson Mandela.
And Naomie Harris as Winnie Mandela.
Plus a host of other stars.
The film starts in the dirty streets of South Africa, amoungst the hovels that the black people living there have to call home.
You see Nelson leaving home in a car in the dead of night, going to one of his meetings with other black men which have to be kept secret.
You hear the screams of mothers as their sons and husbands are dragged out of their homes.
I won't tell you the whole story as there would be no point in you seeing it if you haven't seen it already.
They say he was a terrorist, but I don't believe that it seems to me he was trying to help his people to get freedom from the poverty and injustice that was going on in South Africa. These people are not just stragglers coming in from some where else, you realize that it is their country in the first place.
Now Winnie Mandela is looked upon by a lot of people as a evil monster, but she wasn't always this way, the first few years that her husband was on Robyn Island the police used to go round to her house and draged her out of bed and then keep her locked up for months on end, she never knew where her kids were and if they were safe, but luckily her neighbours were good, and looked after her children for her until she was finally released.
She was always released with no charges pressed against her, I think she finally snapped.
This film is a very good film it brought tears to my eyes. I think it will bring a tear to yours too. If you want to see good over evil then this film is for you.
